Purple Plaid

In order to make it through the cold weather, leggings, boots, and an oversized sweaters are a must!

This is an everyday look that is very doable! The different colors in the plaid allows you to wear a lot of different colored tops! I personally like to choose one of the more settle colors in the pattern and make it pop! At night put on some grey booties (or heals if the weather nice to you) and a purple scarf  to dress it up!

Fall Floral

Just a couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to do the flowers for for a beautiful rustic wedding that was held up at Sundance. It was only my second time doing flowers for a wedding so I was pretty nervous but so excited at the same time! Like I said... I have only done the flowers for two weddings now so I am far from an expert! Through my experiences thus far I have figured out a couple tricks that made my life much easier and hopefully they will do the same for you!

1. Make sure the flowers you want to use are in season. Call a floral shop or wholesale floral company if you need to, but make sure you will be able to get the flowers you want. Finding this out not long before an event can change everything and cause a lot extra stress and re-planning at last minute.

2. Make sure you have the tools and supplies you need. Here are 5 basic supplies you will definitely need are:

3. Ribbon for around vases, bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, and I like to put a thin ribbon about the boutonnieres as well.
  • Floral tape.
  • Wire (for boutonnieres).
  • Pins (for boutonnieres and bouquets).
  • A flower de-thorner for those flowers that have thorns.
There are fancy de-thorners but I bought this basic one and it worked great! Much better than trying to de-thorn all those flowers by hand!
4. Get your flowers from a reliable wholesaler. The first wedding I did I made the mistake of ordering my flowers from samsclub.com don't make the same mistake as me! For this last wedding I did, I ordered the flowers from DWF and will most likely use them again.

5. Give yourself plenty of time to get the arrangements put together, it takes longer than you think, especially while you are learning.

6. Have a place to store them. If you do not have a floral refrigerator you will want to make sure there is a chill room you can keep them in.

7. Plan out how you are going to transport them. I got boxes and filled them full with the flower filled vases so that the vases were secure together and would not spill over. I always make sure the bridal bouquet is held either by myself or by someone riding with me, treat that bouquet like gold!

Flowers can be arranged in so many ways so be creative! Here are a few pictures of the ones I put together.

From The Beginning

I am a lucky girl who has now been married for just over two years to my sweet husband Chaz. I met Chaz in Logan, Utah while attending Utah State University. We met just two days after he came home from playing football in Virginia and hit it off immediately! He had big blueish green eyes, he was tall, had tan skin... not to mention big muscles! Every girls dream right? Well, 3 months later he took me on a hike up the canyon and asked me to marry him!
As you can guess... I said yes!
Don't mind my nails and bony fingers! I was happy with my ring, it was exactly what I had wanted! After a lot of planning we got married on 10.11.12 in the Salt Lake Temple. The weather was perfect and the day couldn't have gone any smoother!
For our reception I wanted people to feel comfortable and wanted there to be a party type atmosphere. We ended up having it in a barn! If you would have seen the barn before you would have been scared for us, it stunk and was super dirty! My mom worked her magic and made the barn look better than I had dreamed!

The whole night was so much fun, I couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. The band, food, and company was phenomenal! We took off and went to Hawaii at the end of the night. So much has happened since then, it hasn't always been easy but its been worth it for sure!
